As one of popular MMOs, Age of Conan attended PAX 2009. Craig Morrison, Executive Producer for the Age of Conan MMORPG, talked about what Age of Conan players can expect in Rise of The Godslayer, the first forthcoming expansion during this event.

Rise of the Godslayer adds the realm of Khitai to Age of Conan. In Conan author Robert E. Howard's original works, Khitai was only mentioned a handful of times, Howard died before he ever got the chance to write more about the mysterious lands in his books.

One of the key design elements behind Khitai and its five new playfields are large, expansive, open environments. Apparently some players felt a little too 'shoehorned' in certain areas of Age of Conan, so Khitai has been designed to satisfy players that enjoy exploration. Even the cities have virtually no 'billboard' buildings with closed doors. Although there may not always be a lot to discover everywhere, you can pretty much roam in and out of every building and back alley.

Khitai will be aimed at level 20-40 characters. Khitai also features a total of 12 factions -- ten of which will be obvious, 2 of which are 'hidden' and require the player to dig a little deeper to find. Like many MMOs, you can earn favor with various factions, although it will come at the expense of enmity from your chosen faction's enemies. You can even betray a faction that you have favor with, but regardless of how you approach it, your choices will affect the content you experience in the game. Every faction also has 4 tiers of armor sets that you can earn.

Rise of the Godslayer will also feature new recipes, as well as 4 playfields for level 80 characters, each with their own dungeons and raids.
