No matter you are AoC newbie or adept, none of us want to spend countless hours trying to craft through a tier or days hunting for the right materials so we are going to share with you some of the tricks of the trade that will make life so much easier, and players are able to gain more Age of Conan gold. Read this AoC tips and tricks guide, these are arranged by class so you can quickly get the info as it relates to the crafting class that you have chosen.

Tips and Tricks

Alchemist: Since the reduction of materials needed to craft in Alchemy, it hasn't been nearly as difficult to find what you need but it still can be a challenge. Your best bet to gather most items is to kill human mages and healers, who can be found usually in enemy camps within the tier you need. In matter of fact, if you gather more AoC gold, you have opportunities to gain bettert items. These guys drop a decent amount of caches that can be used from your inventory providing a plethora of much needed items including the occasional rare items.

For humans, hit up the villas in The Noble District. For other ingredients you'll need maneating plants, crawlers, and demons all of which can be found in the resource zones or out in the adventuring world. Focusing on gather the caches rather than specific ingredients allows for you to gather more in a shorter amount of time.

Architect: This class is not meant to be the average crafter class of choice. Don't even attempt at taking it on unless you are either supported by a guild (who is willing to give you coin for supplies) or independently wealthy as the higher tier supplies are in excess of 1 AoC gold each.

Armorsmith: The sheer volume of craftable items here is staggering. The best thing you can do for yourself is to train in mining, prospecting, stonecutting, and weaving and progress these as soon as possible. Once you have the ability to gather whatever you could possibly need, crafting will be a breeze. The biggest problem you might run into is the gathering of silks and leathers. As a wise player, focusing on gather cheap AoC gold rather than skills and leathers allow you gain more benefits. Because of no AoC money, no skills. The silks drop from humans and the leather obviously drops from animals, both can be elusive!

Rough leather will drop off of "prey" animals. This was the biggest help in the early days of crafting armor! Prey runs away if you get too close so you will need ranged combat of any kind to kill these guys but they are very weak and drop in one hit for most players. used my barbarian and a bow and ran around the prey areas (marked on our maps) and gathered leather pretty fast using this technique.

My favorite spot for calloused leather was in the Eiglophian Mountains up the path from the settlement. You'll find groups of apes up here that drop the leather at a good rate.

Gemcutter: Gemcutting will be undergoing changes soon, though we aren't sure what exactly this will mean yet. Currently, crafting gems is largely a guessing game. When you cut any one gem, you will randomly get any one of several effects on the finished gem. When you are lack of AoC gold, you are able to sell your gems to other players. This can be quite frustrating if you are trying to craft for a specific effect and only have a handful of preciously rare flawless gems. Gems drop off of any level appropriate human, so farm as much as you can and whenever you can to keep a stockpile.

Weaponsmith: This is the easiest and most straight forward of the crafting classes. You'll want to take on the harvesting skills: mining, prospecting, and woodcutting then save your rares because you will need those to make the higher quality blue weapons and they drop sparsely at best.
