Granted, these metrics will still play a large part in the decision, but drawing lines in the sand for all to see will potentially exclude people prematurely and destroy the casual atmosphere.
g. Reward effort, consistency and reliability above all else, reward time invested and skill secondarily. Time and skill can be gained in a proper environment; effort, consistency and reliability speak to the individual’s personality and attitude, which are often much more difficult to adjust.
h. Hold people accountable for their signups, and slotting. Waste time and reliable people are must to be punished. Remove slotting privileges for people who do not show up or are routinely late for raids they are slotted for.
i. Give everyone a chance to raid. Any player who wishes to raid but does not get the chance will likely move on to a different guild and no one wants to be left behind. In the end, the group will benefit more from having experience spread amongst its members rather than confined to a few regular raiders.
Do Not:
a. Slot a regular raider as standby on two consecutive days.
b. Consistently slot new recruits or applicants over a regular raider.
c. Favor members for any reasons other than the good of the group. Personal preferences and favoritism will cause more headaches than they are worth.
d. Change posted slots without giving an explanation and immediate notification to those affected.
