Due to the delays and a lack of other AAA games on the way, Funcom's shares dropped 7 percent in late January 2008; however, as of May 26, Bloomberg reports that the company's overall stock has doubled to reach $520 million. Funcom's MMORPG takes players to the Hyborian Age, a fictional time and place created by American author Robert E. Howard. The game was announced more than three years ago in April 2005 and was delayed on more than one occasion.
The Age of Conan released on May 20 in the United States and May 23 in European and Australian territories and has since garnered numerous sales top spots across the world. Funcom reports in a press release that, at the moment, the game is selling so well that there is simply not enough supply to meet demand, a problem the company is attempting to resolve.
Fastaocgold has announced that they have sold more than 500,000 units, which according to the publisher makes it the fastest selling age of conan gold and power leveling service outside of other games that has been popular.
More sales figures were released for other territories and the game continues to hold up equally well. In Norway, Age of Conan debuted at number one, while the game grabbed the second place spot in Australia and is only bested in the UK by Rockstar's juggernaut Grand Theft Auto IV. Age of Conan recently debuted at the top spots in Germany and Sweden, while placing a respectable fourth in Spain.
While Age of Conan is selling extremely well in Australian and European territories, no sales figures for North America are available yet.
